Proof is replacing prestige as a recruitment asset
A new private-higher-education marketing study examines how prospective students test institutional assumptions and look for evidence of value.
The Story
Red Door’s study is useful because it focuses on the gap between what universities assume students value and what students actually need to believe. In a more pressured market, reputation by itself does not carry the whole decision.
That places greater weight on content architecture. A strong campaign cannot rescue a vague programme page, an abstract value proposition or a journey that makes students work too hard for proof.
For creative teams, this is a reminder to design evidence into the story. Show the people, work, pathways and outcomes that make a claim concrete—and make those details easy to find.
