The strongest identities are built to be remixed
The 2026 Brand Impact Award winners highlight modular identity systems, participatory brand creation and visual languages that adapt across contexts.
A good identity is less a picture than a set of behaviours.
The Story
This year’s Brand Impact winners point toward a familiar but important shift: the best identities are not single hero marks. They are flexible kits of parts that can move across formats, audiences and moments without losing their character.
The most interesting examples also make participation part of the system. Community voices, fan culture and user-generated expression are not treated as campaign decoration; they become source material for the identity itself.
That is a useful direction for small studios. Build fewer precious assets and more generous rules: a typographic gesture, a compositional principle, a motion cue or a way for other people to contribute.
