A visual identity with an action built into it
The new World Design Congress Seoul identity uses modular symbols and a colour system to make its theme operational across a global event.
A strong event identity gives its theme something to do.
The Story
The World Design Organization has unveiled the identity for World Design Congress 2027 Seoul, built around “Think. Make. Change.” The system uses four forms, a Seoul-inspired palette, and a website designed to carry the idea into public-facing communication. The interesting part is the movement from slogan to structure. The identity does not merely announce a position; it gives the position a repeatable visual grammar that can combine, shift, and travel across formats.
It is a useful reference for Studio Wensday when working with cultural organisations, schools, or festivals. The question is not “How do we illustrate the theme?” but “What visual behaviours would let the theme keep happening?”
Studio Wensday Angle
Themes become memorable when they are embedded in the mechanics of the system.
