FIT treats creative education as a global brand

The Fashion Institute of Technology’s first CMO role joins reputation, recruitment, partnerships, and student success under one creative-marketing remit.

FIT Newsroom announcement of its inaugural chief marketing officer

Higher-ed marketing is increasingly being asked to build culture, not just campaigns.

The Story

FIT has appointed Kimberly Fasting-Berg as its inaugural chief marketing officer. The role covers enterprise-wide marketing, branding, and communications, with explicit goals around reputation, enrollment, student success, and partnerships.

That structure matters. Creative education brands often have many strong stories but no shared editorial system connecting programmes, alumni, industry relationships, campus life, and future outcomes. A senior marketing function can turn those fragments into a coherent public promise.

For Studio Wensday, the opportunity is to think beyond admissions collateral. The strongest higher-ed work gives an institution a recognisable point of view—then builds a visual and verbal system that lets every department express it without flattening its character.
