The Story

Appcues has added design tokens and Design Controls to its product-experience builder. Teams can import colour and font values from Figma or another design system, then decide whether builders can use only approved styles or work within a broader range.

This is a small but important shift: brand governance is moving from a PDF people consult to infrastructure the interface can enforce. It is especially relevant when marketers, product teams, and clients all need to publish without a designer reviewing every variation.

For Studio Wensday, the lesson is to package creative direction as usable constraints. A strong system should make the right decision easy, make the wrong decision visible, and still leave room for intentional exceptions.

Studio Wensday Angle

The best brand systems behave less like manuals and more like product architecture.
