Figma makes AI usage a budget line

More credits now come at the same price, but Figma’s agent and Weave tools are about to become metered.

more Professional-plan AI credits at the same cost

The Story

Figma doubled the AI-credit allocation for Professional plans and increased Organization and Enterprise allocations by 1.6×, effective 25 August. The catch is coming soon: Figma Design’s agent and Weave tools will leave open beta and begin drawing from the same credit pool as other AI features.

That changes the conversation from “can this tool do it?” to “where does this belong in the workflow?” For Studio Wensday, the useful distinction is between exploratory play and repeatable production: use AI freely for divergent thinking, then reserve metered actions for work that genuinely removes friction.

A practical move: start logging which AI actions save meaningful time, which merely create more options, and which need human correction. Your future tool stack should be shaped by that evidence—not by the most impressive demo.

AI tooling is becoming an operational cost, not just a creative toy.
