When generation gets cheap, verification becomes the design problem

Product.ai argues that mockups, drafts, and code scaffolds are becoming cheaper to generate while verification remains costly and strategically important.

Define what the system is allowed to generate.
Separate reversible exploration from decisions that affect users, brand, or data.
Create a verification checklist.
Include accessibility, content accuracy, interaction states, brand fit, and failure recovery.
Make evidence visible.
Keep references, source material, assumptions, and reviewer decisions attached to the work.

The Story

Product.ai’s current design brief makes a sharp distinction: AI can produce more drafts and scaffolds, but the cost of checking whether they are right has not disappeared. ([product.ai](https://product.ai/join/design/?utm_source=openai))

That reframes the designer’s value. The work is less about producing one polished screen and more about building confidence around a system: what it knows, what it assumes, and how a person can correct it. ([product.ai](https://product.ai/join/design/?utm_source=openai))

For Studio Wensday, this is a strong argument for designing verification into the workflow itself—not as a final QA phase, but as a visible layer of the product experience.

Trust, evidence, and correction are becoming core interface concerns.
