Figma’s AI credits are becoming a design-budget conversation
Figma increased the number of AI credits included in add-ons while preparing Weave tools and the Figma agent for general availability.
The Story
Figma has increased the credits included in its AI add-ons, with the change taking effect on August 25. Weave tools and the agent in Figma Design are also expected to move from open beta to general availability soon.
The useful shift is less about “AI everywhere” and more about making AI usage legible as an operating cost. For a small multidisciplinary studio, that means deciding where machine assistance earns its keep: exploration, naming, content variation, or production cleanup.
Treat credits like a creative-materials budget, not an invitation to generate endlessly. A short experiment log—task, time saved, quality gained—will tell you more than a feature tour. Studio Wensday Angle
AI becomes more valuable when it is governed like part of the studio workflow.
