AI Literacy Is Becoming Table Stakes

Why this matters to Wen: if AI literacy is now appearing in marketing job requirements, being casually 'good with tools' is not enough. It has to become legible.

Key number: LinkedIn says marketing job postings requiring AI literacy have more than doubled year over year.

The Story

LinkedIn and Adobe’s new AI Essentials for Marketers initiative is less interesting as a course launch than as a labour-market signal. LinkedIn says marketing job postings requiring AI literacy are up 113% year over year. Once a platform that close to hiring patterns says the requirement is hardening, it stops being optional garnish.

The format is revealing too. These are short-form, role-based courses aimed at digital marketing, content and creative, social and communications, and data and analytics. In other words, the market is not asking whether marketers should know AI. It is asking how fluently they can use it inside their own lane.

For Wen, that matters in two places at once. It matters in higher education marketing work, where teams need shared language around tools, output quality, and risk. And it matters for Studio Wensday, where teaching what you know can itself become content, proof of expertise, and a product shape.

Studio Wensday Angle

Package your own mini AI standards kit: one-page prompt rules, one page on editing criteria, one page on where human judgment stays non-negotiable. That can become an internal resource at work and a public-facing signal of seriousness in your personal brand.
