Designing for agents means designing for legibility
Vercel’s Ship recap highlights agent experience, brand knowledge and generative UI as emerging layers of digital product design.
The web may need to explain itself to software as clearly as it explains itself to people.
The Story
Vercel’s framing is a useful prompt: if agents become users of products, websites need structured documentation, scoped access, clear APIs and a coherent “brand brain” that machines can retrieve.
This does not make human experience less important. It makes information architecture more important. A beautifully branded site that hides its meaning from both users and systems is increasingly fragile.
Studio Wensday takeaway: when building a site, design the visible interface and the invisible explanation together—content model, metadata, permissions, docs and reusable brand language.
Studio Wensday Angle
Agent experience is information design with consequences for brand.
